It's Saturday Again

Wasn't it just Tuesday?

On Thursday afternoon, I graduated the basics portion of barber school. *Applause please* It was a trying 10 weeks, but I got through it. I tested out of every cut we've learned, as well as shaving, facials, manicures, perms, colors....everything. We had a few written exams, as well as several oral exams. My brain is fried, FYI.

As a reward, I got my own back bar on the salon floor, and a HUGE box full of hair goodies. It was Christmas in September, I tell you! My OWN stuff, finally! Isn't it lovely? :)Photobucket

I brought my spare manikins home (my instructor thought my girls would like to play with them) Photobucket You better believe she was right! Photobucket

Roo desperately wanted to sleep with "Kaitlynn" but Mama said no....*creepy! Photobucket Here is my big girl, working on her braiding. And yes, the cat wanted to play too. :)

Photobucket Today I gave my grandmother a real perm. Chemicals and all. I have never wrapped a perm with hair shorter than 7 inches long. Gramma's hair was 2 1/2 inches long....let's just say it took me a while, and Gramma was patient, and I didn't cry...we all survived. :) Photobucket

I also learned how to do a diagonal forward bob - think Posh Spice. Photobucket

This girl was SO pleased with her hair. And I think it was really cute on her! Photobucket

Starting this Tuesday, I'm in the salon full-time. I'll be taking appointments Tuesday - Friday, 10:15-5:00, and Saturday 9-5. You can send me a message if you want the phone number to the school to schedule an appointment. And remember, we are a barber SCHOOL, so prices are LOW!!! :)
