Whirlwind Day!

I had 6 clients today. That is a record so far. It would have been easy going, but 5 of those clients were before 1:00!!! Holy cow.

We had 2 wedding parties come in today, which means I went in to school early to do hair (hooray for extra hours!) I had the maid of honor in my chair. Ok, she was only 13, but her step-mom was getting married, so she was pretty important. They gave me free rein, and I had fun! Photobucket

She had these little sparkly butterflies to put in her hair - they looked really pretty.

In my 6 clients, I also had my original head/face shave guy. Remember the one that snored through the whole thing last time? He was back! As much as I'm not fond of using the straight razor to shave, I'm getting a LOT of experience at it lately, so I'm getting really good at it. And because of that, I'm feeling really comfortable doing it. That, I guess, is a good thing!

I also got to apply makeup to the (adult) maid of honor for the second wedding party. Here's the thing. They don't teach us how to apply makeup at school (unless they have a special class at some point), but we get this nice kit of makeup brushes when we get to the salon floor. You would think a room full of well-made-up women would be comfortable applying makeup to other women, but NOPE! NOBODY likes to do it, and 99% of the female students REFUSE to apply makeup. For heaven's sake, if you can put it on your OWN face, you can put it on somebody else's face, right??

Here's the kicker. One of our male, senior students, was the other person applying makeup, right next to me. He learned how to do it, because he plans on working with men and women when he graduates, and he thought he should leran....he did a great job, and I can promise you he's never worn makeup on his own face! More power to him. I LOVE putting makeup on other people, so I guess maybe I'll be their next go-to person when people come in! :)

SO glad you found your calling. You did such a cute job on the 13 year old!

Wow, love all the curls. Beautiful! And I would totally rather do someone ELSE'S makeup than my own, I think it would be fun!
