The Change Agent of Nicaragua want to inform the community of UNI and the Cedar Valley about the culture of Nicaragua. The students that go to Nicaragua spent two weeks working hand-in-hand with the residence of many communities in Nicaragua and experience things that are foreign to their life here in the United States.
So, this lady named Kelly, heads up a group called You C.A.N Make a Difference. The group helps support women and children that have been rescued from the sex trades in Nicaragua. She's been there to help out many times, and she educates people in the Cedar Valley, and does fundraisers to help as much as possible.
Recently, she decided to cut all her hair off, donate it to Locks of Love, then SHAVE her head, as a sign of support for the women of Nicaragua....she was able to raise a lot of money, for people wanting to see her shave her head...so she called CHD.
Why do they always pick me for these things, I don't know? BUT, there was NO WAY I was saying no to this gig! :)
This is Kelly before:
And here we are with Kelly after:
This 26 year old was SO excited to do this, that I had to be excited for her as well. And you know what? She had a darn cute face, and I think she was just as beautiful bald, as she was with all that hair :)
