#1 - it's my grandparent's 62nd anniversary. An amazing feat, if you knew what they had been through over the years...OR, if you simply know what a pain in the bum my grandfather is! ;) Kidding, Grandpa!
#2 - today marks the day that I begin my journey in the senior salon at school, Passions. I was offered the big move last night, and you better believe I jumped on it! Passions is for senior students, that maintain 90% attendance, and without going really into it - you have to know what you are doing! ;) The salon is on the same floor as the student salon (just across the way), but we schedule our own appointments, we only have to have instructors check our haircuts (no checks for styles, updos, shaves, and waxes), we have our own wax room, shampoo room, break room (hooray!), and waiting area. There are only 8 barber chairs in Passions. Fancy chairs, bigger back bars....all good things! Passions was designed to prepare students for real salon life. Needless to say, it's a privilege to be over there!
When my dear Michael graduated, he left one spot open...and I hoped and hoped that it would be mine, and last night, I finally got the offer :) It's a good spot - Michael asked that I take care of it for him ;) So, today is the big day - I moved all of my things over last night, after everyone had left school. My 2 closest friends moved to Passions a few weeks ago, so I cannot wait to be reunited with them! I look forward to quiet days, without all the teenage-drama, and some real independence!
When I came home tonight, I was greeted by 2 tiny cheerleaders, whooping and hollering "Congratulations Mama!!!" They had even made little signs :) You'd think they are proud of me or something?! So....if you call the school to schedule with me, they'll transfer you over to Passions, and you can make your appointment there!
