Fun, CHD style

We take a lot of photos at school, because let's face it, the day drags on from time to time. We are our own entertainment.

Stephanie & I run the front desk together, from time to time. We tend to cause trouble, but that's ok ;)

Stephanie is the Queen of Updos at school (not to be confused with the Perm Queen, of course) ;) When we have a slow day, she practices on whoever will let her. I gladly took her up on the offer today! :)

Forgive the fuzzy camera-phone photos....here's the thing about this updo - there are only 3 bobby pins holding it up! A few weeks ago, an instructor showed a few of us how to sew up hair, using a plastic needle and yarn. This was Stephanie's first attempt at sewing hair - I'd say she nailed it! Bet you can't see any yarn!!!

More updos - Jenny (the geek from Halloween) is also superb at them. Here are Jenny & Stephanie torturing our tiny friend, Chloe, with an updo...Jenny was braiding a headband on Chloe and she's a bit tender-headed ;) She had a death-grip on my chair and was in between grimaces here.

Once in a great while, we all get serious at school - pretty much only for graduations though! At CHD, they do graduations right! We wear a cap and gown, Pomp & Circumstance plays throughout the salon, and your instructors walk you around the school while everybody cheers. After that, the president of the school says some lovely words about each student, and then the student has the chance to speak - commence waterfalls!

I'm starting to understand why the instructors and students all cry like crazy when they graduate or watch a friend graduate - after 12+ months of spending 38 hours a week with all these people, I promise I'll cry like a baby too! These people are becoming my family, and I'm grateful for everything they are teaching me, and everything I am learning from them <3 Photobucket

And while we're on the subject of waterfalls - this is my dear, sweet, Michael. We bonded over perms in August and he has been my sanity ever since. I've learned so much from him, and he has become a true friend. He graduates in 10 days....I bought waterproof mascara today :( We took this picture a week ago, because everyone thought we came to school dressed alike on purpose! Ha ha!! I'll admit, it was pretty dang funny! :)
