Day 1

What I learned today: Scissors are for cutting paper. Shears are for cutting hair. ;) Other than that, we basically read the handbook all day, talked about our curriculum, and went over and over and over the attendance rules. Umm, I get it - show up for class!!

There are only 6 of us in my class. I guess the June group is usually pretty small. This is good, because with 2 instructors and 6 students, I will get all the help I need! :) There are 4 groups of students in school throughout the year - all at different stages of their learning. Once we pass the "basics" portion of school (10 weeks), we'll move down to the salon floor, where we'll cut hair with the rest of the school.

The girls insisted on taking a first day of school photo of their mama....I'm sure I'll be glad to have it someday :) *And special thanks to my mother, for noticing my left hand, doing what I've always done when I get nervous!! ;)

This is gonna be so cool. To watch what you learn and your thoughts on it. Can't wait to keep up on your progress. Thanks for sharing!
