8 days of school
That's how look it took before I snipped my hand with my shears! Last one in class to do it (surprising, for this Grace). I now have a beautifully perfect "V" on the top of my finger. Did you know fingers are serious bleeders? LOL! I tend to get a little woozy when it comes to my own blood, so I'm sure my classmates thought I had lost my mind when I immediately held my hand over my head, and high-tailed it to the sink! They keep that styptic powder on hand, for just such occasions (we also use this on our dog's toenails, when you clip one too short....) very weird stuff, but it helped. They give us really dull, old shears for our first 1/2 of schooling....then we get these $350 shears, that are razor sharp. NOW I understand why they make us wait!!
Tomorrow is our first hair cut on a real, live, human. I can't wait. I have a dear friend coming in to help me out, and I'm not sure I'll ever be able to express to her how much this means to me. I don't trust my own hair to anybody!!! People put a lot of faith in us new students, and we appreciate it so much!
