In the next 12 months of school, we must wrap 100 perms to graduate. Sounds awful, huh? *Check out my perm countdown to your right* Our reward is an uber fancy pair of shears - worth something like $300. Can you believe hair-cutting tools can cost that much? Ick. I hope they are pretty, because this is gonna suck...the perms don't have to all be on humans - I've seen many students wrapping a perm on their manikins on slow salon days.
I've done 2 wraps in the last 2 days. Yes, it takes us that long. We are new. Our fingers aren't very good at holding hair, 2 pieces of tissue, a rod, and a comb, all at the same time. Have I mentioned my hands are numb?
Here she is - my first wrap.

Glorious, isn't it?

We get to do this all week....oh the horror. Next week, we learn fancy perms - like a spiral, and a boomerang (I don't know what this is, but it looks fun!) You may need to pray for me! There's only so long I can put on a happy face! ;)

Ask Charlene. The poor girl use to do spiral perms on you all the time!
I didn't know people still got perms! :-) My last perm was something like 1988! :-) I will never forget the smell, though!
Hi Leia. I'm catching up on your blog. Your snoring client in your earlier post had me LOLing. :-D I agree with Katie - I haven't had a perm since about 1988, and boy did I have some big hair back then. The smell would kill me if I had to be around that now. Good luck with all those wraps!
