Perm Model Day

My darling 8 year old volunteered to help me out for my perm model day. 

 


 Actually, the kid will do anything for curly hair, so she practically begged to be my model :) 

 

 She sat for nearly 2 hours, while I wrapped and wrapped and wrapped....she's such a good kid!  


 She said "Mama, my head is getting heavy!"
   

Looks nice, huh?
   


 There are 68 rods in there - we counted :) Oh, and we didn't put the perm chemicals on her - that wasn't required.
   

And then my child fast forwarded about 80 years....I can't tell you how many students and instructors stopped and giggled at her under that blow dryer!! ;) You can't see it, but she also had her legs crossed.
   

When it was finally dry, we unrolled those 68 rods and....
   

SO darn cute!!!
   

We hairsprayed the heck out of that hair, and she still had some curls a day later - happy kid, happy student :)
   


 P.S. I passed my MEGA-hard written exam for perms on Friday. *Whew!* Major sigh of relief there!! Starting Tuesday, we have 2 weeks of color classes, then a week of testing out of what we've learned in school....then, on September 3, we are in the salon full-time! Hooray! I've almost survived Basic Training!!! :) 


 And today was a pretty slow day at the salon. The only new thing I did was a manicure - not a fan. ;)
